China: Day Nine

Updated: Oct 10, 2020

July 31, 2019

Today was a chill day. We did not have that much to do on the schedule, so we had a lot of time to relax. In the morning, we had a Chinese Facial Painting class. We painted the masks that Chinese opera singers wear. After that we had lunch on campus. Then, we travelled to the Ginyo Transport Facilities Company. We were in a factory that made chairs for the different mass transportation systems (bus, plane, train, etc.) that they have in China. After that we had dinner at a restaurant.

To start off the class, the instructor handed out some masks that we could copy and use as a foundation to make our own. Then, he told us the steps that we should take when designing out mask.

Step 1: Draw an outline of the design.

Step 2: Paint the light colors onto the mask.

Step 3: Paint the dark colors onto the mask.

This is the design that I was following.

What I finished with. . .

Yeah. . . I am not an artist.

After the Chinese Facial Painting class, we ate lunch.

After lunch, we travelled 30 to 40 minutes to Ginyo Transport Facilities Company. We sat down and learned about the company. Before I knew we could not record, I recorded some videos. I am not going to show the inside of the warehouse, but it was an eye-opening experience.

After our visit to the Ginyo Transport Facilities Company, we went straight to dinner. It was a Western Style Restaurant.
