Kayla Grant has over six years of experience working in print and digital media. She joined PEOPLE in 2025 and currently works as a writer/reporter for the Society & Culture team.
Kayla serves as an associate editor for 21Ninety and is a freelance journalist, with her byline appearing on ESSENCE GU, Business Insider, Shondaland, theGrio and more. In all of her roles, Kayla used her passion for telling stories to amplify the underrepresented within the lifestyle and entertainment space.
While Kayla's official journalism career began in Atlanta on the campus of Clark Atlanta University, she always had a love for stories and the journalism industry. From watching celebrity interviews to binge watching Emmy-award winning television shows, everything in her life prepared her to become a journalist.
Outside of journalism, she loves to travel, spend time with family and read (or listen to) books. You can learn more about Kayla by visiting her Instagram @thekaylasgrant and following her on Twitter @thekaylagrant.
